Hi, I’m Brenda! Welcome to my blog.

I’m a mom of two girls, an Army spouse, and a professional photographer specializing in intimate weddings and elopements, military families, and connection-focused family photography. This space is where I’ll share stories from behind the camera, reflections on military life, and insight into why documenting your season, exactly as it is, matters.

I’m a small-town girl from Farmer City, Illinois, where community meant everything and life moved a little slower. After college, I married my high school sweetheart and stepped into Army life shortly after. That journey brought frequent moves, long goodbyes, joyful homecomings, and eventually two daughters who have grown up understanding that love can be steady; even when life is constantly changing.

Those experiences deeply shape the way I photograph families and couples.

As a military spouse photographer, I understand the emotional weight behind deployments, reunions, and the fleeting nature of time together. My sessions are intentionally unhurried and highly personalized, focusing on genuine connection rather than stiff posing. I take on a limited number of sessions each year to provide a boutique experience that feels thoughtful, elevated, and deeply personal.

When I’m not photographing families or intimate celebrations, you’ll likely find me enjoying the quieter moments; long bubble baths, binge-watching Netflix after bedtime, sipping a Starbucks Pink Drink, or making a “quick” Target run that somehow turns into wandering every aisle. Those everyday rituals remind me that beauty often lives in the in-between and that belief carries into every session I photograph.

Photographing intimate weddings and elopements matters to me because they center love over expectation. Photographing military families matters because this life is my life too. And photographing families navigating change matters because seasons pass quickly but photographs allow us to return to them again and again.

This blog is an extension of my heart, my work, and the stories I’m honored to tell. I’m so glad you’re here.
